Hey Ocean!: Big Blue Wave in 8 Bit
Back in early 2012, the Canadian band "Hey Ocean!" put out a call on Twitter looking for a pixel artist and animator for a project. My interest piqued, I replied immediately. It turns out they wanted to have their music video for the song "Big Blue Wave" animated in a pixel art style. How awesome!
And so, over the next one and a half weeks I drew and animated over 800 individual pixel art sprites by hand to replicate the original video leading to a remarkably satisfying end result.
